Weatherford Regional Hospital was conceived in 1959, built in 1961, and opened in 1962. The original 30-bed hospital represented an unusual community achievement because it was financed by contributions from 939 pledges of some $352,000 and $56,185 from Hill-Burton for equipment. The land was donated by the City of Weatherford.

On June 4, 2007 Weatherford Regional Hospital opened the doors to a brand new 62,000 square foot facility. Over $3 million was raised to support the new hospital and all of the new services that it would bring with it. The project totaled over $21.5 million to complete and open the new facility. Every department in the hospital expanded and other departments such as the Women’s Center and Gift Shop were added to the lineup of great services WRH offers.

Through the years, we have helped generation after generation reach better health. Our organization has been striving to serve the needs of our region since we were founded in the early 1960’s. At that time, the community banded together to formulate a regional healthcare facility that the community could be proud of.
