Emergency Services
Small enough to care yet large enough to heal…making a difference in our community one patient at a time
The WRH Emergency Department is a Level IV Trauma Center with air evac readily available in case a critical patient needs emergency transport. Each staff member is specialized in emergency care, trained and certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Basic Life Support. Our staff members have skills that heal and hearts that care.
Once patients arrive in the ED, they are triaged by the nurses in order to determine their need for treatment. Triage is the process by which individuals are screened based on condition’s severity.
Please be prepared to provide information about your medical history, including medicines you are taking, any allergies and a summary of your past illnesses, injuries and surgeries. Having this information readily available greatly assists our medical team in making informed decisions regarding your treatment.
Individual wait times will vary in the ED; it is based on the number of beds available, the number of patients needing care and the severity of their conditions. Patients with the most serious and life-threatening conditions are seen first.
We allow 2 visitors to be with you in the ER during your time of need. Other family members and visitors may wait in the ER waiting room.
Emergency services should be sought for moderate to severe illness or injuries. If a patient is needing non-emergent care they should reach out to their primary care provider or visit the convenient care clinic which can be contacted at the number below.
